Off to Paris for the week. I'll try and post while I am there, but if I'm not able to I'll see you all in a week!

The White Pant Expiration has Expired...
Getting ready in the morning has been difficult because of the lovely weather we have been having in San Francisco.
Difficult, really? Yes, VERY.
When it's hot out and it's January, it makes it almost impossible to pull out your spring time favorites. Winter colors and winter knits are dominating my current wardrobe, and wearing Spring pastels just doesn't seem right.
My one save on the other hand is white denim, which doesn't have a season in my book. The trick is to wear them with winter pieces (ex: chunky knits, denim, camel, muted colors, etc...). Many of you are probably thinking anytime before March there is no way white denim is getting pulled out of storage, but I plan on wearing my white pants with pride.
Current Obsession:
Wide leg is huge right now and these are a perfect mix of two fantastic trends. These pants look good on everyone, including shorties like me.
Current Inspiration:
I own these white jeans from Gap and I absolutely love them. The cropped denim is perfect for dressing up, or down.
Though this isn't white denim, I wanted to include an example of what not to wear. Denim skirts are a no, always. They are never chic, I wish every retailer just stopped making them. This one is a great example of "terrible".

Neon Pout? Yes Please!
When my cousin from Dallas came to visit me in San Francisco the first thing I said to her was, "what's with the figure skater makeup?". She had on bright pink lipstick and eyeshadow up to her brow, but she looked fab.
I myself love a made up face, and I couldn't help but love her bright pink lipstick. San Francisco is not known for it's makeup wearers, as the hippie history never really left this city. As a result, you can imagine I was a little self conscious when I first tried this trend. Dallas on the other hand, is known for hair and makeup (never in a good way), but my cousin did it well and inspired me to try. I became an instant fan of her YSL #10 shade and have had tried to wear it as much as possible since, even in this conservative (fashion wise, not politically) city.
The trend of neon lips is hot right now, and lord knows I love a good pout.
Thanks cousin for bringing a little Dallas shine to this San Francisco girl.
Current Obsession:
YSL #10
You can also try Makeup Forever in a variety of their fuchsia shades.

Mine was the black one....
I have been lucky enough to travel many places, and my trusty pink suitcase has stood by my side with pride each time. I learned early on that having a black suitcase is a rookie travelers biggest mistake. If you are like me and HAVE to check luggage (even if you are just flying for a day trip) you realize that carrying a black suitcase will force you to crane your neck and turn over every bag on the roundabout to find YOUR bag.
I leave San Francisco today and will be traveling to Los Angeles (my other home) to visit friends and family. I will of course be carrying this (see below), but I wish I was carrying this (again, see below).
Current Obsession:
J. Crew does third parties so well. This suitcase is by Globe Trotter ($1,675). A little pricey, but absolutely GORG.
Current Inspiration:
The trusty pink suitcase :). I believe I paid $50 for three. Thank you Target for keeping it classy ;).

I wore flats today, one because it's Friday and two because I am traveling and hate having hurt feet while I wait in line at security. Worst mistake ever! I wish I had my trusty 5 inchers on instead of these blister making babies. Dyiiiinnnggg.......Anyways, these are taking away all of my sane thoughts because I am having to put all my energy into not crying when I walk.
Bye Bye SF...Hello LA.

What Should I Wear?....
When I first heard that I was invited to a black tie event over the holidays, I had a hard time justifying $400 on a fancy dress that I would only wear once. I ended up settling and wearing something I didn't really love, only because it fit in my budget.
I'm sure I'm not the only person who has run into this situation and with all of the spring and summer weddings coming our way, I can only imagine the kind of money I am going to spend on more dresses (wear something twice? I think not...). That being said, my fabulous friend brought to my attention this amazing website that allows you to "rent" designer dresses. Herve Leger for $200!? Haute Hippie for $50?! Not only do they give you amazing deals at this website, but shipping and dry cleaning are free too. And if you are anything like me, wine will inevitably end up on your dress at some point during the night, so why not spend $5 on the "stain insurance". It really is amazing....
Current Obsession:
http://www.renttherunway.com/
Amazing....
Current Inspiration:
If you all remember correctly this is the dress from the opening scene of Sex and the City 2. This dress is now on sale at Bloomingdale's and if it is on Rent the Runway you better believe I will be wearing this ASAP.
Dress: Halston Heritage $325
Currently Causing My Temporary Insanity:
My credit card bill just came and guess what's on it? If you said my so so dress from the black tie party, you're right! TG for Rent the Runway.
Side Note: Lets' give credit where credit is due. One of San Francisco's finest, Ms. Laura V. introduced yours truly to the site. Now my credit card can breathe a sigh of relief....

Sequins in the work place? Don't mind if I do...
After my past dilemma of trying to figure out how I was going to wear my holiday sequins and metallic’s, I realized I found just the place...the office.
The office you say? Yes, that's right.
The best part of working in SF is that most work environments are very casual, especially mine, but don't try this if you work for Morgan Stanley. However, if you have slim to no dress code this might be a fantastic way to wear what was once going into storage and not coming out till November. Dressing down what was once supposed to be dressed up is the trick. But please remember only one shiny piece at a time, because no one wants to look at a disco ball at 9 AM.
Current Obsession:
These shoes are J. Crew from their Crew Cuts kids line. They are amazing. I leave for Paris in a week and I can't imagine not having these in my bag with me (Good thing I have Hooves for feet).
Current Inspiration:
Though they are small you can still get a taste of the shiny accents that were around the office today. Sequin tank under a neutral cardi (So J. Crew) and a silver and navy skirt (Gap) with a military jacket on top (That would be me-don't mind the clutter under my desk). Side Note-I'm still working on my picture quality, so sorry for the graininess, but you get the idea.

Jacket by Velvet by Graham and Spencer-LoooooooooooVVVVVVE!!!!!!!!!!! Obre and sequins...now this might be a little much for work, but I'll see what I can do. I litterally can't focus at work because all I want to do is think about all the ways I want to wear this jacket.

You bought those for how much?....
Anyone who knows me knows I love my designer duds, but living in the city is expensive and often the gorgeous clothes I wish I could buy I can't due to limited funds. As a result, I have had to find "deals" and have become the world's best sale (not bargain) shopper. My biggest and most fabulous find was Jeremy's, a store in the SOMA neighborhood of SF which sells the best designer goods at the lowest price. My finds have included multiple pairs of Christian Louboutin shoes, Jimmy Choos, Prada Pumps, and designer denim. Though you have to look and dig through the store, the treasures you will find are all worth it....
Current Obsession:
http://www.jeremys.com/
Address: 2 S Park St # 1 San Francisco
Phone: (415) 882-4929
Current Inspiration:

Black Patent Leather Christian Louboutin shoes that I purchased for $120 at Jeremy's (the shoes retail for $495 at Neiman's). Side Note: Awkward photos, I know. But the point is to look at my shoes not my strange pose, or the gum in my hand. Side Side Note: Photos courtesy of Stephanie M.
Currently Causing My Temporary Insanity: The Louboutins Olivia Wilde wore to the Golden Globes. Die-I had a heart attack the minute she pulled her dress up to show these off. C'mon Jeremy's let me find a pair of these in my size next time I come for a visit.

It's all in the wrist...
I studied abroad in Greece my last year in college and my biggest take away was not the amazing sites I got to visit, but instead it was the jewelry.
It wasn't just the amazing style and stones, but rather the amount everyone seemed to wear. As a result, I have become obessed with over accessorizing. I shushed the imprinted Coco Chanel rule of "all you have to do is subtract", and instead layered away, especially on my wrists.
All of the braclets and rings I wear all have a special meaning (even the one I stole from my mother, who I believe purchased the bracelet at a Papyrus). I look at my wrist and can tell you about each piece and where it came from, which to me is the best part.
Current Obsession: Chanel pink and gold wrap chain braclet. I have a little fund set aside for this purchase...It is TDF (to die for).
BTW-I bought a jacket, and no it was not NEON. Black, surprise surprise.

(Rings-David Yurman, Maxfield's, Watch-Movado, Bracelets-David Yurman, J. Crew, BR, Papyrus :), Private Jeweler (Thank you G-MA).
Currently causing my temporary insanity: Layering on dogs? Now this is just wrong...

Have Sparkles lost their Spark?
While getting ready to go out in San Francisco on a Saturday night one must ask themselves two questions...
Is the place divey, or should I wear a dress?
and
What neighborhood is the place in?
Similar to NY, San Francisco nightlife differs by neighborhood and wearing a sequin mini at a dive bar like the Buckshot in the Inner Richmond just doesn't make sense (as much as I would love to make it work).
After looking through my closet and picking out my most favorite "going out shirts" I noticed a theme, they all have sequins on them. The question I had to ask was, "are we too far away from the holidays to wear a sequin top"? The answer...for the Inner Richmond, YES. Thus my American Apparrel off the shoulder top had to suffice.
Current Obsession: My new found hipster love of PBR
Current Inspiration: My sequin tops (I will find a way to make these work post Jan 1st)
Currently Causing My Temporary Insanity: These blowfish lights. Died, literally Rachel Zoe DIED when I saw these. Amaze.

If a 14 year-old can do it...
After much discussion of "when", the time has finally come and it has become "now" that I present out my blog. "Her San Francisco" will be a take on how I view living in the city, working in "Fashion" (The quotes will be explained later) and how I view what is obsession worthy.
The fact that a 14 year-old can receive free Miu Miu shoes and get a front row gig at fashion week, just by blogging, means yes, I am a little late to the game, but still aiming to have a slice of the pie.
As San Francisco is such a beautiful city, why not keep the focus local? All while still keeping you well aware of my current obsessions, inspirations and what currently is causing my temporary insanity.
As my mother says to me frequently, "stop speaking in bullets", but sorry Mama this time it just makes sense...
Current Obsession: Elin Kling (Style by Elin anyone...). TG She is doing a calabo with H&M.
Current Inspiration: My Bay Windows (I think I'll go for a color block theme today-Blue Sky, Green Grass, Brick)
Currently Causing my Temporary Insanity: The neon couple from Waterbar at the Embarcadero last night. If color blocking doesn't work, I know I have a neon shirt somewhere...
